Longtime Lacey Business Goes Up For Sale
The owners of Lacey Marine shared the news on social media and said they hope that "the new owners will help take it to the next level."

LACEY, NJ — A longtime business in Lacey is seeking new owners.
The owners of Lacey Marine Supply Bait & Tackle shared the news that the business was up for sale in a recent Facebook post.
"Ron and Jill would like to retire (for a second time) and Dan was offered a job and will remain working in the marine industry," the owners wrote.

Dan Tholen started working at Lacey Marine in 1998 with the previous owner Rod, according to the post, and Ron and Jill purchased the business in 2001 after Ron retired from North Hudson Fire Department.
"For the past 22 years we have turned Lacey Marine into what it is today and we hope the new owners will help take it to the next level," they wrote.

The business has moved several times and changed hands since it first opened as Sportsman's Trading Post in Barnegat in 1969. It has been in Forked River since 1990.
Lacey Marine is a well-known fixture of the community. Just this year, Tholen was awarded by Lacey police when he saved the life of a customer who collapsed inside the store. Read more: Lacey Marine Owner Awarded For Lifesaving Actions
The owners encourage anyone who is interested in taking over the business to reach out to them.
"It is a great opportunity for someone retired or looking for an investment in a profitable family-run business," they wrote.
