A newcomer to the game, this spot already made it to NJ Advance Media's best 50 hot dog joints list. Aside from the Italian dog and charbroiled dog, you can also get breakfast, burgers, wraps, milkshakes and more.
Dewey's Dogs
118 N Main St., Lanoka Harbor
Tucked away in a shopping plaza is where you'll find these pushcart style hot dogs. Fans rave about their Italian hot dogs, but their cheesesteaks and potato wedges are popular too.
Dicky's Dogs
332 Atlantic City Blvd., Toms River
Enjoy their chili dog, Italian hot dog or one of their specialties. One variety comes wrapped in bacon and topped with pork roll, egg and cheese. Their Colombian menu has a hot dog, too, topped with pink sauce and pineapple sauce.
Doo Wop Dogs
821 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville
This truck may be new to the area, but spent 20 years in Edison. The stand serves hot dogs with about 10 different toppings, kielbasa, barbecued pulled pork, chips and various drinks.
Honorable Mention - Wunder Wiener
Bayville's favorite hot dog stand still hasn't returned. It was supposed to open in its new spot at 108 Atlantic City Blvd. last month, but is held up by permits and other issues. Hopefully soon customers will be able to welcome Gerry LaCrosse back five years after the accident that destroyed this popular stand.
