Police: Forked River Man Found With Heroin After Motor Vehicle Stop

DWI and shoplifting arrests

A Forked River man faced drug charges following a motor vehicle stop in Lacey last week.

William Burns, 42, was pulled over at the intersection of Route 9 and Taylor Lane in Forked River at approximately 11:04 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 and arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.

Burns was charged with numerous motor vehicle offenses including DWI, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 30
A black purse with silver circles was reported stolen at 2:12 p.m. off of a shopping cart in the parking lot of Walmart.

April 29
Brian Dittenhofer, 50, of Forked River was charged with DWI after a three-car accident at Route 9 and Nautilus Boulevard at 8:40 p.m. Dittenhofer allegedly hit the back of a car causing it to strike another. He was charged with numerous motor vehicle offenses including DWI, and possession of marijuana. He was processed and released.

April 28
Jamie Okane, 19, of Forked River was charged with theft of a silver chain and gold sapphire ring at 3:45 p.m. The stolen property was recovered.

Olivia Messler, 20 of Beachwood was charged with shoplifting six items valued at $64.66 from Walmart along with Melissa Bohola, 20, of South Toms River who allegedly shoplifted 18 items valued at $128.37. Both women were processed and released.

April 28
Keri Morotta, 22, of Forked River was arrested at Route 9 and Nautilus Boulevard at 4:32 a.m. for allegedly driving while intoxicated. She was served several motor vehicle summonses. She was processed and released.

April 27
Robert Fenton Jr., 49, of Forked River was charged with DWI after being pulled over at Lacey Road and Spaulding Avenue at 11:32 p.m. He received motor vehicle summonses and was processed and released.

April 27
Karalyn Smith, 21, of Toms River was charged with shoplifting $189 worth of merchandise from TJ Maxx at 3:13 p.m.
