Popcorn Park Honors State Trooper With Rededicated Enclosure
State Police visited the Popcorn Park Zoo for a rededication of its turtle enclosure in memory of State Trooper Marc Castellano.
LACEY, NJ — State Police recently joined first responders in Lacey at the Popcorn Park Zoo to honor a fallen State Trooper.
The zoo rededicated its habitat for box turtles, which was originally unveiled in 2012, to honor Marc Castellano and the Move Over Law.
Castellano was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 195 on June 6, 2010.

After Castellano’s death, New Jersey adopted the Move Over Law, which requires motorists who see emergency lights on the side of the road to slow down below the posted speed limit, and if safe to do so, move over a lane away from police, fire crews, paramedics and emergency service vehicles.
Those in attendance had an opportunity to meet and interact with the troopers and first responders who had their police vehicles and equipment on display.
