Two Cars Burglarized On Same Street, Same Day, Within Minutes Of Each Other
Incidents both happened on Challenger Way on March 17, chief says

Lacey police are investigating not one, but two vehicle burglaries that happened within minutes of each other last week on the same street, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
Challenger Way - Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the Lacey Shell, located at 926 Lacey Road in Forked River, at 7:25 p.m. on March 17. The victim reported that earlier in the evening at 6 p.m., she parked her car in the cul-de-sac at the end of Challenger Way in Forked River, while she attended a fitness class. She returned to her vehicle at 7 p.m. and drove away, the chief said.
As she was driving home, she noticed that the rear passenger side window had been smashed and her purse stolen. Her purse contained $130 in cash and various debit and credit cards. Sarno searched the area and found the victim's purse in a dumpster. It was later discovered that the credit cards were missing and had already been used at various retail stores, DiBella said.
