Lawrence flea market, kayak tours highlight weekend events in and around town this weekend.

Friday

Drum Circle, Lawrence Library, 2751 Route 1, Lawrence Township, 4:30 p.m.

Ange Chianese of Mercer County’s Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Entertainers will facilitate this beginner’s drum circle. Bring your own drum or use one of theirs. Refreshments served. Registration is suggested.

Saturday

Indoor Flea Market, Lawrence Township Senior Center, 30 East Darrah Lane, Lawrenceville, 8:30 a.m.

The Lawrence Township Office on Aging is hosting an indoor flea market from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Seniors and local vendors are encouraged to sell general merchandise, arts and crafts and household items. Vendors should arrive half an hour early.  The cost for a table is $10, or for Lawrence seniors $5. Coffee, water, hot dogs and soda, and other refreshments will be available for sale.  For more information contact the Lawrence Township Office on Aging at 609-844-7048.

Kayak Tours of Mercer Lake, Mercer County Park, 334 South Post Road, Princeton Jct., 9:30 a.m.

At the heart of Mercer County Park's 2,500 acres is Mercer Lake, the largest body of water in the county. The lake is home to many native plants and wildlife; Great Blue Herons, Double-crested Cormorants, and aquatic turtles are common on the lake, and Bald Eagles, Osprey and beaver are occasionally sighted. Join Tyler Christensen for a kayak tour of Mercer Lake and travel around the shore of the lake to learn about the organisms that make up this aquatic environment.
This program is $16 per person and requires registration. To register for this program, please notify Jenn Rogers (jrogers@mercercounty.org). Be sure to bring a bottle of water and shoes that can get wet. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and binoculars for wildlife viewing will be provided. 

Boomers & Seniors Saturday Morning Wii Bowling,  Lawrence Library, 2751 Route 1, Lawrence Township, 10 a.m.

Wii is a fun and easy way to get some light exercise and socialize with friends. Refreshments served. Registration is suggested.

Sunday

Marina Boat Rental Open, Mercer County Park, 334 South Post Road, Princeton Jct., noon.

Mercer County Park Marina Boat Rental open weather permitting noon to 6 p.m. Last boat returns to dock by 7 p.m.
