Concert Begins Library's 50th Anniversary Celebration
Lawrence Library first opened its doors Dec. 14, 1961, in a location at Lawrence Shopping Center. Today (Sept 16) a concert by the Paul Plumeri Band will be held to kick-start the library's golden anniversary.

Editor's Note: The following is a news release that was issued by the Lawrence Township branch of the Mercer county Library System.
The Lawrence Library turns 50 on Dec. 14, but the party is starting early with an outdoor concert at the library featuring the Paul Plumeri Blues Band on Friday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.
There will be children’s activities including balloon animals by performer Ange Chianese.

Local car collectors will also be showing their vintage autos.
Food will be available for purchase from Captain Paul’s Firehouse Dogs. A portion of their proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Lawrence Library.

Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the music and celebrate this milestone birthday with us.
