Cut in Cable Knocks Out Municipal Phone Lines
Lawrence Township's 911 emergency phone lines are still working.

At 11 a.m. today, Friday, Sept. 30, the following advisory was posted on the Lawrence Township website:
Please be advised that due to a cut in a fiber optic cable, the township phones are not working. It is anticipated that the phone lines will be working again between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

While regular phones to the municipal building and different offices in the township police and courts facility are not working, the township's 911 lines remain unaffected, a police spokesman said.
All 911 emergency phone calls are being received as normal in the communications center at police headquarters, Lt. Charles Edgar said.Â
