Ewing Residential Fire Displaces 2 Families, Dog Duo Rescued

Three people from two families were displaced as a result of a residential fire on Stokes Avenue in Ewing on Monday evening, officials said.

EWING, NJ - Three people from two families were displaced as a result of a residential fire on Stokes Avenue in Ewing on Monday evening, officials said.

The dwelling fire was reported shortly before 6 p.m. at 121 Stokes Ave. with a potential entrapment, New Jersey Public Safety Archives shared via Facebook.

“Upon arrival large amounts of smoke could be seen,” the archive said Monday.

While primary and secondary searches of the residence yielded no results, two dogs ran outside the door once fire personnel opened an entrance to the home, the Ewing Township Fire Department said in a statement.

The dogs were then handed over to Ewing officials to be evaluated.

No injuries were reported by New Jersey Public Safety Archives.

Officials from the New Jersey Red Cross also provided the displaced families with temporary lodging, food and clothing needs.
