TRENTON, NJ — A fire at a senior living facility in Trenton sent several people to the hospital Saturday, authorities said.

The blaze occurred at Trent Center, a large residential community in the area of Greenwood Avenue and Hudson Street, Mayor Reed Gusciora said in a social media post.

The fire started around 1:30 p.m. in a first-floor apartment and spread to another unit, NJ.com reported, noting the complex houses around 150 people.

At least six people — including a firefighter — were taken to the hospital, according to WPVI, which added three families in the 15-story buildng were affected.

The Red Cross responded to assist displaced residents, Gusciora said.
