A lot went on late Saturday and all day today (Sunday, Aug. 28) as Hurricane Irene struck New Jersey and made itself felt in Lawrence Township.

Trees were toppled, power lines were torned down, roadways were flooded, and hundreds of people had to be evacuated from homes, apartments and motels threatened by rising water.

A detailed account of how the storm affected the township will appear tomorrow on Lawrenceville Patch.
