Lawrence Historical Society To Explore Aaron Burr's True Story Beyond ‘Hamilton’ Musical
This year's lecture is titled "American Revolution 250 – Aaron Burr and the Hamilton Musical."
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Lawrence Historical Society has scheduled its annual Mary Tanner Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 15. The event will be held at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence High School auditorium. It is free for the public to attend, but pre-registration is requested.
This year’s lecture is titled “American Revolution 250 – Aaron Burr and the Hamilton Musical.”
Burr is known as “the Villain” from the hit musical, “Hamilton,” but just how accurate is the portrayal? The lecturer, Rick Feingold, will discuss Burr, the man versus the musical.

Using audio excerpts from the musical, Feingold will explore the life of this most controversial Founding Father and Mercer County resident.
The Lawrence Historical Society established the Mary Tanner Lecture Series in 2003 in honor of one of Lawrence Township’s most active community organizers. As a member of the Society’s Board of Trustees, Tanner was instrumental in raising funds and public support for the restoration of the 1761 Brearley House.
