Lawrenceville Memorial Day Planner

Parade and services to be held on Saturday, no trash or recycling pickup on Monday.

Lawrence Township will commemorate the Memorial Day holiday with a parade and services on Saturday.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Lawrence High School, procede north on Princeton Pike, then onto Darrah Lane, and then to Birchwood Knoll, before it concludes with a service in Lawrence Township Veterans Park at the end of Oaklyn Terrace.

There will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, May 27, in observance of the holiday. Trash will instead be collected on Saturday and recycling will be collected on June 2.

Memorial Day is observed as both a state and federal holiday.

State and local government offices, as well as courts, will be closed. Post offices will be closed. No regular mail will be delivered. Stock and financial markets, as well as banks will be closed. Schools will be closed. NJ Transit trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule. Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a weekend schedule while the Newark Light Rail will operate on a Saturday schedule. River Line will operate on a Sunday schedule.
