Lawrenceville School Donates $80K To Support Local Public Schools

Since 1996 Lawrenceville School has donated nearly $1.9 million to local public schools.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Earlier this week, Lawrenceville School presented $80,000 to the Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) to support student programs at local public schools.

The check was presented by Head of School Steve Murray. This brings the Lawrenceville School’s donation to nearly $1.9 million since 1996.

The school also provides event sponsorship and in-kind services, including office space for LTEF leadership. This year’s donation represents 32 percent of the LTEF budget.

“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with The Lawrenceville School. Their annual contributions allow us to achieve our mission to enhance the educational experience for all Lawrence Township public school students,” LTEF Executive Director Karen Faiman said in a statement.

In the 2022-23 academic year, the LTEF granted more than $130,000 to Lawrence Township public schools for a total of 50 new programs that span the curriculum, including literacy, equity, music, art, humanities, STEM, character education and more.

“I’m impressed each year by the extraordinary programming created by teachers and supported by LTEF,” Murray said. “The Lawrenceville School is proud to support this important work, helping the Foundation enhance the education of the thousands of students served by the Township’s public schools.”

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) was created to be a bridge between the Lawrence Township community and the public schools and to encourage private philanthropy to enhance public education for all students.
