Lawrenceville Summer Camp Guide

A guide to finding local summer camps in and near Lawrenceville.

With the end of the school year in sight, thousands of township parents may be searching for something, anything, to get the kids out of the house.

With that in mind, here are just some of the offerings throughout the township for a few months of fun or learning during the summer break.

Lawrence Township Summer Art/Theater Camp

  • For students entering second through seventh grades
  • Morning instruction (9 a.m. to noon) will be in the visual arts
  • Afternoon instruction (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) will focus on theater
  • Students can register for either the morning or afternoon or the full-day
  • Full day fee: $250 per session; Half-day fee $185 per session
  • Session 1: June 24 to July 5
  • Session 2: July 8 to July 19

Lawrence Township Park Summer Camp

  • For children between the ages of 6 and 12
  • Camp will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in two-week sessions from June 24 through Aug. 16
  • Camp will be held at Veterans Park on Oaklyn Terrace; Lawrence High School will be used for swimming and on rainy days
  • Campers will be grouped by age and participate in arts, crafts, games, sports and other activities.
  • Full-day and half-day enrollments are available, as are before-camp and after-camp care
  • Session I: June 24 to July 5
  • Session II: July 8 to July 19
  • Session III: July 22 to Aug. 2
  • Session IV: Aug. 5 to Aug. 16

Lawrence Township Sports Camp

  • For children between the ages of 6 and 12
  • Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Campers can register for the full-day, mornings (9 a.m. to noon) or afternoons (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • There will be a combination of instruction and competition throughout the day in multiple sports.
  • Session 1: July 8 to July 19
  • Session 2: July 22 to Aug. 2
  • Full day fee: $250 per session; Half-day fee $185 per session

Lawrence Township Travel Camp

  • For students entering fifth through 10th grade
  • Camp will run from July 8 to July 26
  • Each day during the three-week program, trips will be taken to theme parks, the beach, water parks and athletic events
  • Individuals can register for one or more weeks (registration fee includes all transportation and admissions)
  • All trips are subject to change due to availability, weather, enrollment, etc.
  • Fee: $285 per week

Lawrence Township Safety Town

  • For students entering kindergarten
  • Students visit the police station and firehouses and learn about safety around the home, fire safety, how to make 911 emergency call and other invaluable safety lessons.
  • Safety Town will run Monday through Friday from June 24 to July 3 at Ben Franklin Elementary School
  • Students may register for either Session I (8:30 am to 10:30 am) or Session II (11:00 am to 1:00 pm)
  • Registration is limited to 45 students in each session, with placement on a first-come basis
  • Fee: $75 per session

Lawrence Township Public Schools Summer Program

Lawrence Township Public Schools is offering summer classes for students who will begin grades 6 through 9 in the 2013-2014 school year. Click here to check out course offerings and other details.

  • Registration: May 6 - June 20 
  • Cost: $400 for four weeks or $200 for two weeks
  • Host Site: Lawrence Middle School
  • All courses are taught by certified teachers whose lessons are tied to the Common Core Content Area Standards.
  • Courses include Crime Scene Investigation and Reporting, Instrumental Music Camp, "Lights, Camera, Action" Theater Class, Fun and Fitness for Teens Creative Writing, Pirate Class, Art and much more.

Farm Summer Camp at Terhune Orchards

Terhune Orchards welcomes children between the ages of 7 and 10 to enjoy a fun-filled week of summer camp on the farm. Camp sessions are from July 15-19 and July 22-26, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
