Local Entomologist Returns to TV Program 'Infested!'

Jeffrey White, research entomologist for Lawrence Township-based Cooper Pest Solutions, last year appeared in one episode of Animal Planet's TV series "Infested!" to educate the public about bed bugs. This season, he appears in all nine episodes.

This year, White appears in all nine episodes of the second season of “Infested,” providing information to viewers in seven individual episodes and two “best of” episodes.

Infested!” features the unbelievable, real-life horror stories of ordinary people plagued by extraordinary infestations. From snakes, spiders and scorpions, to rats, roaches and raccoons, the series highlights nature’s nastiest critters at their worst.

White, who holds a Master of Science degree in entomology from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from Rutgers University, has been interviewed as a bed bug expert by several high-profile news programs on NBC, ABC and other networks, as well as Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune.

He hosts a regular online video podcast where he answers questions from the public about bed bugs, and routinely develops bed bug management programs for residential and commercial properties, according to his biography posted on the Bed Bug Central website.

“It’s always an honor to be a part of this type of programming. I was thrilled when Animal Planet asked me to participate once again in the series,” White said. “I had such a great experience when I did the ‘Bedbugs, Rats, and Scorpions’ episode for the first season of the series so I was happy to participate again.”

The second season of “Infested!” premiered Dec. 30. The next episode airs tonight (Jan. 6) at 9 p.m. on Animal Planet.

“When I am asked to serve as an expert for productions like ‘Infested!’ I take particular care to ensure that I’m providing quality information to the viewers,” White said.
