Mercer Announces New Shuttle Service Between Trenton Mercer & Philly Airport
American Airlines passengers can complete their check-in and security at the local airport before being transported to Philly Airport.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – The Mercer County Board of Commissioners is looking at a partnership with American Airlines and Landline to launch an innovative tarmac-to-tarmac motor coach service at Trenton-Mercer Airport.
This first-of-its-kind arrangement allows passengers to complete their entire check-in process and security screening at the local airport before being transported directly to Philadelphia International Airport to board their American Airlines flights.
“We’re thrilled to bring the convenience and connectivity of the American Airlines / Landline tarmac-to-tarmac motorcoach service to Trenton-Mercer Airport,” said Nick Johnson, Vice President of Revenue at Landline. “This innovative offering allows travelers to check in, clear security, and begin their global journey right from TTN—skipping the hassle of driving to a larger hub while still enjoying seamless access to American’s worldwide network.”

The initiative represents a significant expansion of transportation options for travelers, providing a streamlined alternative to traditional airport travel that eliminates the need to drive directly to Philadelphia International.
“Since becoming County Executive, I have been dedicated to making sure we maximize all Trenton Mercer has to offer to our residents,” County Executive Dan Benson said. “Our new agreement with American Airlines / Landline tarmac-to-tarmac service will give our residents another option for accessible public transportation.”

The groundbreaking service addresses two critical regional challenges - reducing traffic congestion around Philadelphia International Airport while creating new revenue opportunities for Trenton-Mercer Airport through increased parking and facility usage.
“The County Executive and Commissioner Board has worked hand-in-hand in exploring innovative options to both generate revenue and improve services,” said Commissioner Chairwoman Kristin McLaughlin. “This is once again another win-win for our County Government and our residents.”
The tarmac-to-tarmac service is expected to attract travelers from throughout central New Jersey, potentially transforming Trenton-Mercer Airport into a regional gateway for American Airlines passengers.
Implementation details and service launch dates will be announced as the partnership moves forward. The county commissioners are expected to vote on the matter in August.
