On Tuesday, investigators received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that a mobile messaging platform had reported that a user uploaded and distributed unidentified, possibly newly produced or homemade content, specifically, image and video files of suspected child sexual exploitation/abuse material, Platkin said.
The user distributed multiple media files containing nude images of his wife in the presence of children. In the chat logs, the man mentioned children being present while he and his wife had sex, Platkin said.

The cyber tip line reported a total of 36 files uploaded from an account belonging to the user.
Law enforcement officers from New Jersey State Police surrounded their house in Hamilton and made the arrest on Wednesday, according to reports.
“Sexual offenses against children are among the most serious crimes we charge,” Platkin said. “It’s especially disturbing when, as in this case, the accused are members of law enforcement."
The male officer is charged with causing or permitting a child to engage in a sexual act that may be photographed, filmed or reproduced, engaging in sexual conduct that would debauch the morals of a child; possessing fewer than 1,000 images of child sexual abuse; distributing images of child sexual abuse; and possessing images of child sexual abuse with the intent to distribute.
Elizabeth is charged with engaging in sexual conduct that would debauch the morals of a child.
On Wednesday Hamilton Mayor Jeff Martin and Police Chief Ken DeBoskey released a statement saying the township has zero tolerance “for crimes of this nature.”
"We remain fully committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability within our community and our police department and continue to fully cooperate with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) investigation,” the statement said.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s office said Elizabeth has been suspended without pay while the investigation is ongoing.
“To be very clear, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office does not tolerate such alleged incidents. In an effort to avoid hindering an inquiry into the facts, the Sheriff’s Office cannot specifically comment on any ongoing or formal investigation,” Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler said.
“However, as the Mercer County Sheriff and a community leader, know that I have zero tolerance for (alleged) immoral acts in our community and within our ranks. Like many employers, we cannot control how people behave outside of the workplace and at home,”
The couple is currently lodged in the Monmouth County jail.
