2 Monmouth County Beaches Under Advisory For High Fecal Bacteria

The Monmouth County beaches currently under an advisory are Roosevelt Avenue Beach in Deal and Elberon Beach Club in Long Branch.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Two beaches in Monmouth County are under a water quality advisory as of Wednesday morning due to the ocean water testing high for levels of fecal bacteria.

This is according to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, which tests NJ beaches for water quality. The NJ DEP publishes their beach report weekly here. The beaches remain open; they are not closed.

The Monmouth County beaches currently under an advisory are:

  • Roosevelt Avenue Beach in the town of Deal
  • Elberon Beach Club in Long Branch

In Ocean County, four beaches are currently under an advisory for testing high for fecal bacteria in the water. They are:

  • The 25th Street Bay beach in Barnegat Light
  • Brooklyn Beach in Lavallette
  • East Beach Station Avenue beach in Pine Beach borough
  • Hancock Beach in Seaside Heights
