Authorities Capture Brick Fugitive Wanted In Long Branch Shooting: Prosecutor

Brick Township man charged with attempted murder

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Authorities on Thursday arrested a Brick Township man wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a city man 10 days ago, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Donovan L. Wesley, 25, was apprehended by officers from the U.S. Marshal's Service and the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office in Asbury Park.

Wesley was charged with first degree attempted murder, second degree armed burglary, first degree unlawful possession of a firearm and second degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, Gramiccioni said.

Long Branch police responded at 1:50 a.m. on Oct. 8 to a 911 call about a shooting at a West Columbus Place residence in the city, he said.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
