Long Branch Cop Charged With Drunk Driving In Fatal Accident

LONG BRANCH, NJ - An Long Branch police officer has been charged with drunk driving more than a month after he struck and killed a Stanhope woman, according to a report on nj.com
Jake Pascucci, 28, had already been charged with careless and reckless driving after the Sept. 22 death of Karen Borkowski, 66, on Ocean Boulevard at Broadway.
Borkowski was crossing Ocean Boulevard at Broadway around 8:15 p.m. when she was hit struck by Pascucci's 2016 Jeep, police have said.

Pascucci told officers at the scene last month that he had a green light and that Borkowski was jaywalking, according to dashboard camera video obtained by nj.com.
The case was transferred to Middlesex County to avoid a conflict of interest.

Acting Long Branch Police Chief Jason Roebuck said Pascucci's job status is still being discussed.
