Man Shot And Killed On Long Branch Train Platform Monday
At 7:39 p.m. Monday, Long Branch police officers were called to the platform of the NJ Transit station for a report of a shooting victim:

LONG BRANCH, NJ — A man was shot Monday night on the platform at the Long Branch train station, according to a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor.
At approximately 7:39 p.m. Monday, Long Branch police officers were called to the platform of the NJ Transit station for a report of a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man, who had been shot.
Police found him shot on the platform. The man who was shot and killed was identified as 43-year-old James Hailey of Newark.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was ultimately pronounced deceased at 8:34 p.m. Monday .
This is a joint investigation involving members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office – Major Crimes Bureau, NJ Transit Police and the Long Branch Police Department.
