2 iPads Stolen From Target Counter Lead To Long Valley Charges

Washington Township Police Department charged a man with shoplifting. He is accused of fleeing the store after taking the iPads.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — An Orange man was charged with shoplifting in the theft of two iPads from the Target store on Route 46, according to the Washington Township Police Department.

The man, 23, of Orange, was charged on Jan. 5 in connection with the theft on Oct. 2, 2021, police spokesperson Lt. Mark Niemynski told Patch in an email Thursday. The man was not identified.

He was scheduled to appear in Morris County Superior Court in the theft of two iPads valued at $1,949, the department said in a news release Wednesday.

Surveillance footage showed the man take the iPads from the store counter before he ran from the store into a waiting car, Niemynski said.

The driver of the car was not charged, Niemynski told Patch Friday.
