Basketball Quarterfinals Tournaments Ahead For Long Valley Teams

Both West Morris Central Boys and Girls teams will play on Saturday in the county tournament's quarterfinal round.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — West Morris Central’s boys and girls basketball teams each won their first round of the Morris County Tournament on Saturday, according to NJ.com.

West Morris Central’s Wolfpack boys team took the game from the Chatham Cougars on Saturday, 66-55. The girls team won their game Saturday against Morris Hills High School 45-43.

Each team next heads to its Quarterfinals round on Saturday. The boys are scheduled to square off against Morris Catholic High School at 7 p.m. at Randolph High School. The girls will face Morristown High School at noon at Morris Knolls High School.

Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello posted about the win for both teams on Sunday.

“Congratulations to the WMC boys and girls basketball teams on their Morris County Tournament wins this weekend to keep their tournaments alive,” Murello wrote.
