Cabin Fever Cure: Check Out Programs At Long Valley’s Library
There are fun February happenings for all ages, in-person and remote, planned by the Washington Township Public Library.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Looking for something new and interesting to do —and in some cases — without leaving home?
Washington Township Public Library, located at 37 E. Springtown Road, is offering many programs throughout the month of February — some virtual — for all ages.

Lunar New Year — On Feb. 1 from 4 to 4:45 p.m., join the wait list for this kindergarten to 5th grade activity. Books, a craft and games teach kids about Lunar New Year.
Rock n Read — On. Feb. 3 from 10:30 to 11 a.m., ages 2 and older can enjoy books and songs. Registration required for the event here.

Masterworks — On Feb. 3 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. For grades 2 to 5, register to “learn a little about a famous artist and create a project in their style.
Teen Take Home:Valentine Hot Cocoa Bombs — On Feb. 4 from 12 to 5 p.m. For grades 6 to 12, join the waiting list to learn to make Valentine hot cocoa bombs.
Lunar New Year:Traditions and History — On Feb. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. A special adult virtual Zoom program with Professor Jun Lewin, who was originally from China. She will teach about the holiday and a special calligraphy program. Sign up for the Zoom program here.
Science Tots — On Feb. 7 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. For ages 2 to 5, try science experiments and enjoy a story. Registration required here.
Evening Book Group — On Feb. 7 from 6:45 to 8 p.m. For adults, discuss “The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.” More information here.
Meditation — On Feb. 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. For adults, a special Zoom program with Michele Caws of Chester’s School of Royal Yoga. For more information and to register for the Zoom event, click here.
Genealogy Working Group — On Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Work together with other genealogists also discovering their family roots. Find out more information here.
Qigong For Health and Immunity — Feb. 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. An adult program open to all skill levels. Register here to receive the email to join the class.
Teen BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) Club — Feb. 9 from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. For grade 6 through 12, teens should bring what they are reading. Find out more information and register here.
Adult Take-Home Craft: “Full of Love” Kits — Feb. 11 from 11 to 5 p.m. Registration starts here for this adult program on Feb. 1 at 8 a.m., with limited spots.
Tweet DIY: Valenslime’s Day — Feb. 15 from 4 to 5 p.m. For grades 3 to 5. Register for the wait list here, for a take home “Valenslime’s” kit.
Kids Make & Take: Valentine Delights — Feb. 16 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. For kindergarten to fifth graders. Register here for the wait list.
Teen Make: Taco Tuesday — Feb. 22 from 7 to 8 p.m. For grades 6 to 12. Sign up here to pick up kits to make two types of tacos during a Zoom program.
African Mask Making — Feb. 23 from 4 to 5 p.m. For ages 8 and older. Sign up here to make African Clay masks, enjoy music, songs and stories.
Teen Time — Feb. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For grades 6 to 12. Register here to try out some international snacks for National Snack Food Month in February. Play games and enjoy crafts.
A Deep Dive Into Fairytales — Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Register for the adult Zoom event here as County College Professor Matthew Jones teaches about the “symbolic and psychological powers” within fairy tales.
