Heart-Touching Flag-Raising Ceremony At Cucinella School
Local veterans join students, staff at Long Valley elementary school.
LONG VALLEY, N.J. – The flag-raising ceremony at Benedict A. Cucinella School Tuesday afternoon was personal on many levels.
The event, which included members of the American Veterans Association of Washington Township, included a flag-raising ceremony, a gift to the veterans, and songs with presentations of student tributes.
The flag used in the ceremony belonged to the father of Cucinella School Principal Dr. Jolene Battitori, a veteran of the Korean War. One of the AVAWT veterans in attendance was Chuck Dauchert, father of Cucinella fifth grade teacher Matt Dauchert.
