Learn About New Jersey's Diner History at Washington Township Library
Author and historian Michael Gabriele will discuss his book "The History of Diners in New Jersey" on Nov. 9.

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J.– Author and historian Michael Gabriele will discuss his book "The History of Diners in New Jersey" on Nov. 9 at the Washington Township Public Library.
The book tells the story of New Jersey’s diner business and the evolution of the American diner phenomenon.
Gabriele is a 1975 Montclair State University graduate, executive board member of the Nutley Historical Society and part of the Clifton Arts Center's advisory board.

The book is illustrated with over 75 photos – many taken by the author – along with scans of vintage postcards, rare photo prints and illustrations.

“Icons of American Culture: The History of New Jersey Diners" exhibit, which runs through the end of the year.
Gabriele is also the author of “The Golden Age of Bicycle Racing in New Jersey."
The free event is slated to start at 7 p.m.
The library is located at 37 E. Springtown Road.
