Rabies Clinic, Pet Licensing Happening In Long Valley

See the guidelines for having pets in Long Valley.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Pet owners in Long Valley may have a busy month, because several programs are happening to make sure your furry friend is up-to-date on its requirements.

Pet license applications and renewals are taking place for the rest of the month. All cats and dogs that spend more than six months out of the year in your home must be licensed.

Licensing is happening from now until Jan. 31. After Jan. 31, late fees will apply.

See the price breakdown below:

  • Neutered Dog $10.00 per animal
  • Non-neutered Dog $13.00 per animal
  • Neutered Cat $8.50 per animal
  • Non-neutered Cat $11.50 per animal

Late fees will be an additional $4 throughout February, and then $3 per month for the remainder of 2026. Click here for more information on Long Valley's animal licensing policies.

Additionally, a rabies vaccination clinic will be held on Jan. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Washington Township Department of Public Works facility at 54 Rock Road.

The free clinic is open to all New Jersey residents.
