Washington Township Historic Preservation Commission Seeks Members
The Township HPC oversees changes involving existing properties and new construction within three historic districts and several sites.
WASHINGTON TWP., N.J.– The Washington Township Historic Preservation Commission is seeking new members.
There are openings for Class A, B and C members – all volunteer positions:
Class A– Person who is knowledgeable in building design and construction or architectural history and who may reside outside the municipality.

Class B– Person who is knowledgeable or with a demonstrated interest in local history and who may reside outside the municipality.
Class C– Citizens of the municipality who shall hold no other municipal office, position or employment except for membership on the Planning Board or Board of Adjustment.

The HPC oversees changes involving existing properties and new construction within three historic districts and several individual sites. It also acts in an advisory position to any homeowner of an historic property within the township.

Applications can be submitted to the clerk's office in the municipal building, 43 Schooley's Mountain Road, or faxed to (908) 876-5138.
Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. inside the municipal building.
