Wolfpack Lacrosse Begins State Title Quest Saturday

Central starts quarterfinals as No. 3 seed, will face Mountain Lakes at Bridgewater High School June 4.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Only the best of the best make it this far, and that’s why West Morris Central’s Wolfpack Lacrosse team will be playing Saturday, June 4.

The past week has been nothing short of exhilarating for the boys team, which won a North, Group 3 sectional title, followed by a last-second goal-scoring win in the Group 3 championship to win that trophy Wednesday.

Now, they compete to be called the best in New Jersey.

The Tournament of Champions begins Saturday, and Central will face-off against Mountain Lakes at Bridgewater High School at 7:30 p.m.

Preceding that contest is Pingry vs. Chatham at 5 p.m.

Central received the number three seed behind No. 1 Bridgewater (19-0) and No. 2 Delbarton, who both received byes in the first round, according to nj.com.

Pingry and Chatham are seeded fourth and fifth, respectively. Central’s opponent, Mountain Lakes, is seeded number six.

If Central wins, the Wolfpack will face Delbarton on Wednesday, June 8 at Kean University in the semifinal. The final is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at Kean University.
