Bergen County One Of 15 Counties Selected For National Health Survey
Bergen County is one of 15 counties in the U.S. selected to be part of a survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — If you live in Bergen County, you might have received a letter asking you to participate in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, a health-related behavior study conducted by an agency of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Bergen County was selected as one of 15 counties across the nation to be part of a survey with a sample size of 5,000 residents, who are selected at random regardless of age and deemed eligible based on an online questionnaire. The survey will address everything from air quality and vaccinations, to grocery stores foods, the news release said.
Data gathered will then help public health officials and legislators develop national health programs and policies, and expand health knowledge of the U.S.

Serving as the nation's "health check-up," the survey "provides a wealth of important data about many of the major health and nutritional issues affecting the country," Brian Moyer, the health statistics agency director, said.
A report on physical findings, along with an explanation of those findings, will be given to participants, and all of the information collected is confidential.
