Cooling Center Added In Garfield Amid Extreme Heat

Bergen County has added a public cooling center in Garfield, amid the heat wave.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – Bergen County has opened an additional emergency cooling center at Garfield Senior Activity Center, in an effort to help residents combat the heat this week, County Executive Jim Tedesco said in a news release. This brings the total number of county-operated cooling stations to six.

The following is a list of the cooling sites, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday.
