COVID Startup Delivering Chef-Crafted Meals Expands Into Bergen County

A regional food service that delivers chef-designed, heat-and-eat meals to your door is expanding into Bergen County.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A regional prepared meal delivery service offering chef-driven catering right to your door is expanding into Bergen County.

WECO, a coronavirus pandemic startup, hand-delivers meals made from scratch — such as tamarind chicken, roasted cod and beef bourguignon — to families and those looking for a better way to eat at home.

Menus change every week depending on what's locally and seasonally available, and are now delivered in more than 450 towns across five states. Fully cooked meals arrive and require only that customers heat, plate and serve.

No subscriptions are required — "just deliciousness in a box," a company spokesperson said.

“We know how busy families and individuals are,” Jennifer Fremont-Smith, founder and CEO, said. “WECO is dedicated to making it easier to decide ‘what’s for dinner’ and to gather people around the dinner table for delicious, freshly prepared meals without the hassle of cooking."
