Experience The Joy Of The Holidays At Bergen Co. Winter Wonderland

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Families will be able to transport to a winter paradise this holiday season at Bergen County's premier destination for festive family fun, according to county spokesperson Derek Sands.

Bergen County's Winter Wonderland celebration at Van Saun County Park will feature ice skating, a heated pavilion tent, games and activities, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and a 30-foot tall centerpiece Christmas tree.

County officials, Sands said, invite families to experience holiday joy at the following upcoming events:

• Sunday, December 11, 2022 – Winter Wonderland Tree Lighting at 5:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, December 13, 2022 – A Taste of Wonder in Support of the Bergen County Food Security Task Force at 5:30pm (Tickets)
  • Sample appetizer bites from a variety of mobile restaurants and enjoy an open bar with beer, wine and soft drinks. Ice skating and skate rentals are included with each ticket.
• Thursday, December 22, 2022 – Winter Wonderland Menorah Lighting at 5:30 p.m.
• Friday, December 30, 2022 – Winter Wonderland Kinara Lighting at 5:30 p.m.

Hours of operation at Bergen County's Winter Wonderland are as follows:

• November 25 through Dec. 23
  • Fridays, 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; and Sundays, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, the ice rink will be open for skating from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.
• Christmas Eve (12/24) and New Year’s Eve (12/31)
  • 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• December 26 to January 2
  • 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On Christmas (12/25), the Winter Wonderland will be closed.

Right across the street, Van Stun County Park is hosting the second-annual "Let it GLOW! A Holiday Lantern Spectacular" at the Bergen County Zoo, Sands said.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Bergen County Zoo in partnership with Tianyu Arts and Culture, the Spectacular will feature traditional Chinese lanterns, and "hand-painted, larger-than-life structures that celebrate the warmth of the holidays," the county said.

Festivities will run from 4 to 9 p.m. every Thursday to Sunday through Jan. 15, and close on Christmas.
