MAHWAH, NJ — A hiker was hospitalized after he fell down a ravine at the Ramapo Valley County Reservation, police said.

The man was hiking with friends Wednesday and lost his balance. He fell and hit his head on a large rock, Sgt. Michael Blondin told NorthJersey.com.

The man was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center, according to the report.
