How Much Snow Fell In Bergen County? Weather, Power Outage Update

The powerful winter storm that is slamming the northeast did not bring as much snow to northern Jersey as it did to other parts of NJ.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — More than 5 inches of snow fell in some parts of Bergen County on Friday night into Saturday. The powerful winter storm that is slamming the northeast did not bring as much snow to northern New Jersey as it did to other parts of the Garden State.

Accuweather radar shows the nor'easter should be gone from northern Jersey by around 3 p.m. A winter storm warning is still in effect until 7 p.m. in eastern and western Bergen County.

A few PSE&G customers in southern Bergen are without power, the utility provider reported Saturday afternoon. Orange and Rockland is not reporting any outages as of 1:30 p.m.

Weather observers and spotters reported the following measurements in Bergen County Saturday:

  • Palisades Park: 5.9 inches (9 a.m.)
  • Bergenfield: 5.1 inches (10:05 a.m.)
  • River Edge: 5 inches (11:15 a.m.)
  • Tenafly: 4.9 inches (7:30 a.m.)
  • Franklin Lakes: 4.1 inches (8 a.m.)
  • Fair Lawn: 4 inches (8 a.m.)
  • Ridgewood: 3.2 inches (7 a.m.)
  • Montvale: 2.5 inches (8 a.m.)
  • Oakland: 2 inches (8 a.m.)

Other parts of New Jersey have seen much more snow; Ocean County reported 19 inches, according to Accuweather. More than a foot of snow has fallen along the coast. A blizzard warning is in effect for portions of central and southern New Jersey until 4 p.m.
