How Much Snow Will Mahwah Get This Weekend?

Winter Storm Iola will blow into Mahwah this weekend, bringing freezing rain, ice, and even some snow.

The nor’easter, which could bring nearly a half-a-foot of snow to parts of New Jersey, is slated to strike the region beginning late Friday and lasting until Saturday.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 100 percent chance of snow tonight, a wintery mix tomorrow, with snow likely falling into Saturday night. A total accumulation of two to six inches could fall in Mahwah this weekend.

The National Weather Service has also issued a “Winter Weather Advisory” in effect from midnight Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday for snow, sleet and freezing rain covering nearly all of New Jersey.

Mahwah will likely see one to three inches of snow after midnight tonight and snow and freezing rain before 11 a.m Saturday, followed by rain and snow, the NWS reports.

On Saturday, ice accumulation, freezing rain, and more snow could cause treacherous conditions for drivers. There will be up to three inches of new snow on Saturday, as well as ice accumulation. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution and watch out for black ice.

There is a 50 percent chance of snow on Sunday night and Monday, the NWS reports.
