Mahwah Openings, Closings During 'Historic' Snowstorm

According to the National Weather Service, Mahwah could see anywhere between 14 and 23 inches of snow blanket the area between Monday and Wednesday.

With that comes school and business closings, road detours, power outages and so on.

Use this post as your one-stop-shop for all that information, which will be constantly updated throughout the duration of the storm. Monday, 9 a.m.:

Monday, 10:49 a.m.:

  • Ramapo College will close at 1 p.m. today, and will be closed all day Tuesday.

Monday, 12:05 p.m.:

  • Mahwah’s Planning Board meeting has been canceled.

Monday, 2:07 p.m.:

  • Municipal Offices will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 27.
  • Court session scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27th, has been cancelled.
  • No curbside garbage pick up on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
  • There will be no recycling collection on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 27 and 28.

Monday, 7:16 p.m.

  • Mahwah Public Schools will be closed Tuesday.

Tuesday, 10:49 a.m.

  • Mayor Laforet said the Township will be resuming normal operations Wednesday.

Tuesday, 1:06 p.m.

  • Secondary roads remain slippery in some areas so exercise caution.
  • The MMA ice rink was cleared this morning and is now open.
  • Most stores in the township are open for business.
