North Jersey Weekend Events: Jan. 21-22

NORTH JERSEY, NJ — As winter trudges on, there are plenty of interesting things for you and your family to do this weekend in North Jersey.

From Lunar New Year celebrations to a toy show, there are numerous upcoming events across the region.

Saturday

2023 Lunar New Year Celebration Gala: New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark

Welcome the Year of the Rabbit with the New Jersey Symphony in a tradition that invites all audience members to a celebration of community and cultural exchange.

A VIP festival reception is at 4:30 p.m., followed by a gala dinner at 6 p.m., a celebration concert at 7:30 p.m. and a dessert party at 9 p.m.

This property expo is assembled for potential personalities with varied tastes from different circles for the Indian property market.

Winter Festival: Wayne YMCA Child Care, Wayne

There is a festival happening in Wayne.

From noon to 3 p.m., the Wayne YMCA will have the following activities: bounce house, bubble soccer, carnival games, snowball fights, a dance party and a farmers market.

New Jersey Devils vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: Prudential Center, Newark

View the Devils vs. Penguins game played on Jan. 22. The Devils are riding a streak of 10 straight contests scoring at least three goals.

New Year's Celebration: Historic Wicoff House Museum, Plainsboro

From 2 to 4 p.m., the Wicoff House Museum will have games and activities inspired by New Year's traditions from around the world, crafts, a scavenger hunt, and refreshments.
