BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service is projecting that the Saddle River will pass flood stage during Tuesday's rainstorm and crest around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, according to recently released predictions (see image above).

Gov. Phil Murphy has declared a state of emergency in advance of the expected heavy rains and high winds.

A flood watch has been issued for Bergen County from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday, and the area is expected to get 2-3 inches of rain overnight.

The Saddle River near Lodi is expected to pass the 5.5 flood stage around midnight Wednesday, Jan. 10, then begin declining after 2 a.m.
