Saddle River Neared Flood Stage In Bergen County

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The Saddle River reached its 5-foot flood stage around 11 p.m. Wednesday night, during a nor'easter, according to the National Weather Service.
While the river did not reach the minor flood stage of 5.5 feet, it came close enough to warrant safety actions.

At 5.5 feet, the Saddle River begins to overflow into the back parking lot of the Boys and Girls club, the NWS says. The weather service lists other impacts at the bottom of this page.
Now that the rain has stopped, the water is likely to recede.

For Thursday night in the Mahwah area, some rain is expected in the evening, with wind gusts up to 20 MPH. Light show showers may arrive overnight.
The next significant rain is not expected until next Thursday.
