Winds Up To 70MPH: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued Monday Night In Bergen

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Monday night for Bergen County, with strong winds moving in from the west. The warning expires at 9:45 p.m. Monday.
Radar indicated the storm could produce wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour.
The NWS advises people to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

"These thunderstorms are capable of producing all types of severe weather including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds and tornadoes," the NWS said. "Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a bathroom, closet or basement."
A wind advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Tuesday.
