Truck Crashes Into Rt. 17 Overpass In Mahwah
The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Route 17 north, when the truck smashed into the MacArthur Boulevard overpass.
MAHWAH, NJ – The rush hour commute home on Tuesday evening was impacted for several hours after the bed of a dump truck got wedged underneath an overpass on Route 17 Mahwah.
The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Route 17 north, when the truck smashed into the MacArthur Boulevard overpass and the vehicle’s bed was dislodged from its chassis, according to a Facebook post by Mahwah Rescue 1.
No injuries were reported.

In addition to Mahwah police and fire department, the New Jersey Department of Transportation also responded to the scene to investigate whether there was any structural damage to the overpass, according to Mahwah Rescue 1.
Further information was not immediately available Wednesday morning from Mahwah police.
