Manalapan Obituary: Shirly Banka, 78

Shirley Jayne Banka, 78, of Manalapan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she resided in Bayonne prior to moving to Manalapan in 1965. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. Shirley was a salesperson for Avon Products for 30 years before retiring.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Anna Walters; her son, Scott Banka; and her sister, Terry Walters. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ted; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Banka, and Steven and Beata Banka; two grandchildren; Skyler and Nicolas; and a host of relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, April 8th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ 07726. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9th, at 10 AM, at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan.
