Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Sept. 26, 2016

A cool fall beach day is on the way.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today, with highs only in the lower 70s.

Beach winds will be from the southeast around 5 miles per hour, switching over to the south in the afternoon and increasing to 15 miles per hour.

Waves will be around two to three feet, with southeast swells of two feet. The ocean water temperature is 72 degrees. There's a moderate rip current risk, which means wind or wave conditions could support stronger or more frequent rip currents, especially near piers, jetties and other areas during low tide.

Always have a flotation device with you in the water and only swim in guarded areas. Talk to the guards about any possible surf zone hazards. There are still a few beaches open.

There is no lightning threat today.

High tide at Belmar was 4:14 a.m. Low tide will roll in at 10:22 a.m., followed by another high tide at 4:36 p.m.
