MANCHESTER, NJ — A fourth victim of a former South Jersey educator and Whiting resident accused of sexually assaulting underage students has been identified, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Darnell Williams, 34, was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child on Sept. 17, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The new charges stem from 2015, when Williams sexually assaulted an underage girl who was under his care in Manchester, Billhimer said.

Those charges were served to Williams in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he is being held on charges of sexually assaulting three other children.

Williams was initially accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl he was taking care of while employed by the Hamilton Township School District; following those charges, two additional victims, ages 11 and 12, came forward. "Although the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office does not typically issue press releases in matters such as this due to their sensitive nature and out of respect for the victim’s privacy, this defendant previously held positions supervising minors in Atlantic and Ocean Counties - thereby necessitating this alert to the public," Billhimer said.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Delaney Huber of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929-2027, extension 3218.

Williams is already charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and three counts of official misconduct in connection with the Atlantic County incidents.

Williams worked as a supervisor of special projects at Hamilton Township School District; he was placed on leave when the investigation began and then fired, according to the Press of Atlantic City. Before that, he worked for the Stafford Township School District.
