TOMS RIVER, NJ — More charges have been filed against a Manchester Township man and former teacher accused of sexually touching children, as a fifth victim has been identified, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.

Darnell Williams, 34, was charged on Monday with two counts of criminal sexual contact and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child on Oct. 6, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

“We suspected there may be additional victims, and unfortunately we are finding this to be true,” Billhimer said.

Those charges were served to him in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where Williams is being held on charges of sexually assaulting four other children. Three of those incidents happened in Atlantic County; Williams also is accused of sexually assaulting a girl in Manchester, authorities said.

The latest investigation found that Williams sexually touched an underage girl in both Manchester and Stafford between 2020 and 2023, Billhimer said. These dates align with Williams' employment as a teacher in the Stafford Township Schools and his time in the Hamilton Township School District, where he began working as a supervisor of special projects in 2022, according to public records.

Since Williams' initial charges at the end of August, four additional victims have been identified.
Williams was ordered to remain in jail on Oct. 7 on his previous charges; a detention hearing on the newest Manchester and Stafford charges will be scheduled, Billhimer said.

Anyone with information about Williams is asked to contact Detective Delaney Huber of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929-2027, extension 3218.
