Motorcyclist, 20, Killed In Route 37 Crash With Pedalcycle In Manchester
Connor L. Nolan was thrown from his motorcycle as a result of the crash, Manchester police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A 20-year-old from Manchester died Thursday night when he was thrown from his motorcycle after a collision with a pedalcycle, Manchester police said.
Connor L. Nolan was riding a black 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 west on Route 37 about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday when his motorcycle collided with the pedalcycle, which was being ridden by Kimberly Reinschmidt, 49, of Manchester Township, Lt. David Fusaro said.
Reinschmidt was crossing Route 37 at Commonwealth Boulevard in a painted crosswalk at the time, Fusaro said.

The motorcycle hit the front of the bicycle, causing Nolan to lose control and his motorcycle then hit the concrete barrier between the east and west lanes of Route 37, Fusaro said.
Nolan, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Fusaro said.

The pedalcycle ended up in the intersection and lost its front fork and wheel, he said.
Reinschmidt was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with suspected internal injuries and lacerations to her left hand and arm, Fusaro said. She was listed as stable on Saturday, authorities said.
The preliminary investigation indicates disregard of a traffic signal and unsafe speed were the primary causes of the crash. Patrolman Conner Yatauro and Patrolman Anthony DeBalsio of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit are continuing to investigate, Fusaro said.
The Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, members of the Ridgeway and Manchester Volunteer Fire Departments, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and Accurate Towing responded. The road was closed for several hours during the investigation, Fusaro said.
