Day Named For 100-Year-Old Marlboro Resident
Mayor Jonathan Hornik proclaimed August 5, 2024, as "Ben Indelicato Day" at Indelicato's birthday celebration on Monday.
MARLBORO, NJ — August 5, 2024 has been declared as “Ben Indelicato Day” following Indelicato’s 100th birthday on Monday, Marlboro Township announced.
Currently a resident at Marlboro Senior Living Residences, Indelicato was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Jonathan Hornik by Council Vice President Michael Milman and Councilman Juned Qazi at his birthday celebration.
The proclamation declares August 5, 2024, as “Ben Indelicato Day” in recognition of Indelicato’s life and service to the US.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1924, Indelicato served in the US Army during World War II and as a Private First Class stationed in the South Pacific region.
Throughout his three years of army service, Indelicato received several decorations and citations, including the American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and more.

In 1948, Indelicato married his wife Sina. The couple have three children together and are currently looking forward to celebrating their 76th wedding anniversary.
Following Indelicato's service in the army, he opened a fish store with his brother-in-law. Today, Indelicato enjoys time with his loved ones, including his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
