Frank Shallis, St. Mary's Parishioner, Dies at 82
Frank lived in Colts Neck Township for 25 years.

Frank J. Shallis, Sr. 82, of Colts Neck passed away at home on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Born in Jersey City, Frank lived in Old Bridge prior to moving to Colts Neck 25 years ago.
Mr. Shallis worked as an Elevator Mechanic for the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 1 of New York, NY, where he was very influential in the labor movement for that building trade. Upon his retirement, Frank was the founding member of the Golden Gang Box Retirees Club of I.U.E.C Local 1.
He was an active parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Colts Neck and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council in South Amboy and past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge 2229 in Old Bridge. Mr. Shallis was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force.

He was also an avid golfer. His influence and friendships are to wide spread too put into words. He was the strongest, most caring, giving, upstanding man to anyone who knew him.
He was predeceased by his loving and dearly missed wife Irene Ann Shallis in 2008, son Michael Shallis in 2011, daughter Mary Ellen Beam in 2006, two brothers Lawrence and James Shallis, and six sisters, Sister Marie Elizabeth Thomas, Margaret Russell, Eleanor Shallis, Rosemary Franey, Janet Wetherill, Jane Adams, and Constance Calissi.
Surviving are his sons Frank Shallis, Jr. and Patrick Shallis, daughters Irene Campbell, and Catherine Flaherty, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday 9 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck. Burial will be private at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
